Who doesn’t love a little treat? This dip is a great little treat to have without feeling guilty. It is not overly sweet, but really satisfies a chocolate craving. I have even served this at a gathering without anyone realizing it was “healthier”. You can adjust this recipe to your taste by adding more cocoa or vanilla. I would just be mindful adding additional agave or honey because you don’t want to go completely out of hand with added sweet. I did have a friend ask me if she could substitute plain Greek yogurt for vanilla Greek yogurt. You could, but I would just lean on the side of caution with that because of the potential added sugars in flavored yogurt. Read labels! Anyways, this quick dip is a great treat for you, kids, or for friends and family.
Chocolate Fruit Dip
1 cup Greek yogurt
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tablespoon agave nectar (or honey)
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons chocolate chips
In a small bowl, mix cocoa, agave and vanilla together to form a paste. Add yogurt to bowl and stir thoroughly to blend. You can adjust flavor by adding more cocoa if you want the taste to be richer or add more vanilla for a stronger vanilla undertone. Top dip with chocolate chips, chill in fridge till ready to serve. Enjoy with fresh fruit.
