Today I decided to embark on Beachbody’s 3-Day Refresh program. The 3-Day Refresh program is designed to be a quick effective way to drop a few pounds, jump start good nutrition habit’s or just as a nice kick in the pant’s to get you back in gear. The program is 3 days of specially formulated shakes, clean eating, and Shakeology. It is designed as a simple, straightforward program that will help cleanse your body and improve the way you feel, without starving yourself. Unlike juice cleanses or liquid fasts which tend to be high in sugar and low in protein (leaving you feeling weak, hungry, and sluggish), this easy-to-follow program helps support your metabolism while nourishing your vital organs.
Here is a look at how the day goes:
I will admit that I did not plan do this program like I normally would have. Things changed with everyone’s schedules and my meal planning went out the window (something’s just don’t go as planned…even when you do…happy detours!), so I figured it would be a good chance for me to try it. I also had all the program, the supplies, I really was feeling sluggish and thought this would be a good way to rejuvenate myself for my next round of 21 Day Fix.
Here is what I ate for DAY ONE!
The plan was very easy to follow and it actually was not bad at all. The shakes were filling and the fiber sweep was not as bad as I thought it was going to be. The trick with the fiber sweep is just to pull up your big girl (or boy) pants and chug it down. I did workout and do Lower Fix and I made sure to drink plenty of water. I did not feel sluggish, light headed or anything like that. I also did not have to live in the bathroom, which I know is fear for a lot of people. I was hungry at moments, but nothing I couldn’t handle. The only issue I was having was that I missed eating meat. This is all in my head because I felt full from the shakes, but I just felt like I wanted a piece of meat. This also could be because I am in the highest calorie bracket for 21 Day Fix and this is a bit less than what I am used to eating. Overall not a bad start, but I will be dreaming of BBQ chicken tonight!
